Our Plan

Gymnastics NSW is committed to providing a
COVIDSafe Environment.

Safe Work Australia advises that employers have a duty under the model Work Health and Safety (WHS) laws to eliminate, or if that is not reasonably practicable, minimise the risk of exposure to COVID-19 in the workplace.

One of the ways to do this is through vaccination. The COVID-19 vaccines will help protect people by either preventing or reducing symptoms of COVID-19 in the person who has received the vaccine.

To protect those participating in our sport and the community broadly, Gymnastics NSW highly recommends that all eligible people get vaccinated.

While we wait for a lead from government on sport vaccination policy we note that there may come a time when to coach, officiate and play sport vaccination will be mandatory and we look to the gymnastics community to prepare accordingly.

Currently in NSW, vaccinations are available for those aged 12 and over.

Proof of Vaccination

In line with NSW Health requirements, proof of vaccination will be required to access the freedoms available to Indoor Recreation once 70% of the population are double vaccinated.

Currently in NSW,  mandatory vaccination orders are in place for the following industries:

  • Education (School and Preschool)

  • Early Childhood

  • Disability Care

  • Aged Care and others who work in or enter aged care facilities

  • Health Care

  • Emergency Services

  • Construction

  • Airport, Quarantine and Transport
